Investment in modern roads has made the countryside and villages accessible, so you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside or find watersports, golf, boating and hundreds of other leisure activities are all in easy reach. Watersports can be enjoyed from the Peniche recreation centre, including scuba diving and fishing. There are equestrian centres in Lourinha, Atouguia da Baleia and Rio Maior.
